I have crossed into Oregon and will be riding up this coastline now for the next 10 days or so.
Today was the first genuine headwind so far - it was strong and gusting enough to hold me up pretty consistently all morning even though it was a very low impact ride through to Brookings.
I've pitched in overnight at Harris Beach State Park which is just a mile north of the downtown here and so long as conditions remain as clear as they are today, I can cope with the breeze riding the recumbent.
It's a super place to camp too - really sheltered and great facilities for only $5. It looks more like the botanical gardens than a campground.
Hopefully this sets the standard for the rest of Oregon??.......
